Andy Morrell has again stated that wants to stay at Highfield Road. The midfielder as revealed exclusively on this site has already spoken to Peter Reid about extending his contract which expires at the end of the season, but the City boss said that his hands were tied and was unable to offer anything at that time.

Morrell told the CET: "I have spoken to my agent recently about going to see the gaffer to see how things lie, but there is no rush.

"I would like to stay but I will have to see what happens. I am a regular in the side and I would like to think that will go in my favour. I am also very settled in the area and would like to stay, but you never know in football.

"I have really enjoyed my time here so far and to make the step up from what was Division Three to Division One has been great.

"I feel I have progressed to a place where I can play and feel I have proved myself. It was a challenge and I have overcome that and I wouldn't change it for the world.

"It has been a brilliant move for me. The club is fantastic and the players have been great, both past and present, so hopefully we can go on now and win some games."
