More Coleman Criticism

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman was speaking to the club website after the 2-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

Coleman said about the game which saw City concede two early goals then be denied a goal from Leon Best and a penalty: "If I made decisions like that - as bad as that - I'd be called into question, and rightly so. So why should they be any different?"

First, we score a goal - everyone in the ground knew it - but the officials haven't given it. Then the referee has given us a penalty and he's been overruled by his assistant. He's supposed to be the boss, so I don't understand that.

"Sheffield Wednesday were better than us. They wanted it more, they played with more aggression and they deserved three points. But it's not for the officials to decide - they've got to make the right decisions - and they've got two major calls wrong.

"In the second half we were better, but it couldn't get much worst than our first 30 minutes. But we had already lost goals and lost battles all over the pitch. They wanted it more than us - they were ready from the first minute, and that's why we lost the game."
