Coventry City have until Christmas to sort out the financial mess they are in according to Joe Elliott. The new Acting Chairman has met with four interested parties, two of whom are taking their iinitial interest further whilst two are to be spoken to again.

In an interview with Radio 5 Live this morning, Mr Elliott said: "It's got to come before Christmas otherwise we've got serious problems. "We have two problems: one, the present where we have a huge debt to manage and two, the future, where we have to get investment or a buyer.

"The clock is ticking very quickly, but the good news is that the future looks OK. "We have two people at the table and two more coming to the table. "We believe there is a really good opportunity to get us out of this problem and get us back to the Premier League."

One consortium already spoken to was the Best Group, fronted by Rufus Brevett and comprising a number of Portuguese agents including former Benfica General Manager Jose Veiga and Jorge Rubenstein who is involved with a UK investment fund.
