With Coventry City announcing their first two Associate Directors as part of the Bond Holder Scheme, Covsupport caught up with David Shortland and John Clarke.

Both are mad keen City supporters of long standing and both members of the Vice Presidents clubs. David Shortland from Shortland Horne Estate Agency and Property Group, is a Director of the Alan Higgs Centre at Allard Way and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Belgrade Theatre.

A dedicated City supporter and Covsupport reader, David counts some of his favourite City games as the 1963 FA Cup tie with Sunderland, the Micky Quinn hat-trick at Arsenal on the opening day of the Premier League in 1992 and the 1997 relegation avoider at Tottenham.

Being part of City's board is in his family as his Uncle is a former director and David said: "I'm happy to help to give the club a boost and get us back in the Premiership.

John Clarke has that on the board experience that David's uncle had. He is a former Director and has been a City supporter for 45 years. He was given an OBE for his sterling work with the NSPCC and is Chief Executive of Coventry and London based PR Company Century PR. He is also involved with the Belgrade Theatre and Coventry Transport Museum.

Speaking to Covsupport, John said that "being back on the board was an ambition come true. "Having been a City supporter for 45 years,I've seen many ups and downs but I delighted to be involved with the club once again in what is an exciting phase in the club's history."

Monies donated to the Bond Holder's scheme which gives back an interest rate of 3.75% and a 20% bonus when promotion is achieved, go straight to Micky Adams to spend on players.
