McSheffrey on Luton Loan Move

Gary McSheffrey has spoken about his loan to Luton Town. Speaking to the CET,the poular player said: I was very disappointed not to be playing so I went and had a chat with the manager and we decided it was best for me to get out on loan for a month to get a few games and a couple of goals.

"I am confident I will get back in the team and Peter Reid has been very positive about the situation. I scored goals at this level last season and given the opportunity I know I will score them again."

Peter Reid has blamed McSheffrey for a loss of confidence but this is not the case as the striker netted three times in three reserve team outings,
McSheffrey added: "I just feel I have been lacking in opportunities. "When I have been on the pitch, apart from a half chance at Forest, I don't feel I have had a single clear cut chance to score a goal.

"Strikers need to play off chances and through balls. I am not saying the lads have not been playing well because they have been passing the ball about really well without really creating much.

"I had a few options and could easily have gone to another club and walked straight into the first team but I chose Luton, knowing I would have to fight for my place.

"Their two strikers have been playing very well but hopefully I can give the manager a selection problem. "I know the club well and really enjoyed my time there last season. They play really good attacking football which suits me and hopefully I can slot straight in when I get my chance.

"I got a nice reception from the travelling fans at the weekend and I am looking forward to Saturday's home game with Peterborough because Kenilworth Road has become a bit of a fortress."
