From the club website:

"Gary McSheffrey has issued an emotional plea to all Coventry City supporters ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup clash against Crewe Alexandra, stating ‘Your Club needs you’.

The Sky Blues face the Railwaymen just two days after manager Peter Reid left the Club and the home-grown striker has urged fans to show their support and come to the game and cheer the players on.

McSheffrey believes everyone needs to pull together and focus on the game, with a place in the Forth Round at stake.

"It’s vitally important that the fans get behind us because without them we’re nothing," he said. "As much as we were disappointed with the manager going, we’ve got to look forward and there’s no better way then the match tomorrow. It’s at home, it’s the FA Cup and it’s a big occasion for us to go out and get into the draw for the next round for the supporters and then hopefully we can go on a good cup run.

"We’ve had great support over the last few home games and it would be great if that happened tomorrow and the crowd got behind us and urged us to victory. I’m sure we can produce a performance for the fans because when we’ve had a bad result in the past we usually bounce back with a good one.
Hopefully that can be the case tomorrow and we can win the game.

"We need the supporters to get behind the lads and come to the match and we’ll produce a good performance and get a victory for them to progress through."

Away from the Cup, the Sky Blues currently occupy 20th place in the table but the Coventry kid is optimistic City can turn their fortunes around on the pitch.

"We’ve just got to look at Crystal Palace’s run last year and it’s got to inspire every team down there at the moment," he stated.

"They came from nowhere to get into the Premiership so anything’s possible. But we are realistic, we are in a dogfight but we’ve got the players and the determination to come through it."
