Coventry City are to speak to James McPake about his future over the next few week.

The defender has a year left on his City contract and is due to report for pre-season training along with the rest of the City team on July 1st. Hibs have been interested in signing the defender who has been called into the Northern Ireland squad but so far, the bid appears to be speculation rather than an actual bid and McPake along with his agent is to have a meeting with City representatives to discuss his future.

Speaking to the CT's Alan Poole, McPake said about coming back to Coventry: “That is where I will be on July 1st.

“I’m determined to have a future with them because they’re my parent club and I have no other option but to go back to them – and I don’t mean that in a bad way.

"Things do change in football but at the moment I’m not out looking for it or begging Hibs to try and buy me.”
