The 24 year old defender has signed for the Sky Blues on a three and a half year deal.
McPake had previously signed a pre-contract deal to join City in the summer, but joined early for an undisclosed fee.
Livingston are experiencing financial trouble and are thought to have agreed the early departure of McPake and use the fee to pay their staff.
