Former Coventry City winger Michael McIndoe is claiming that he is surviving on handouts.
McIndoe was a big part of a £30million investment scheme which collapsed leaving many including a number of professional footballers owed money, some as much as a million pounds.
McIndoe told a bankruptcy court in London: “Since the bankruptcy, my girlfriend gave me some cash in July and I believe the trustee’s solicitors are pressing for that money to be paid back..
“I have received some money from friends, around £9,000, and some money from NatWest for overcharging me on an account.
“But I have no income.”
The Scot who now lives in Edinburgh with his mother, also told the court that his only bank account was frozen and that he had no property.
The bankruptcy case was adjourned until June 17th.
