David McGoldrick has been officially awarded a second goal in Coventry City's 4-0 win at York City in the Johnstone Paint Trophy Second Round tie.

The City supporters in the terrace at Bootham Crescent that night were in a very good position to see McGoldrick's shot, Jamal Byfield's intent to clear  and the ball go into the net with the look of despair on the face of the York player following, which along with the tannoy announcement, led them to initially believe they had witnessed an own goal.

However, the Football League, on reviewing the evidence, have decided to award the goal to McGoldrick, who had always claimed the goal as his, and his goal tally for the Sky Blues is now up to nine goals.
