Coventry City loanee David McGoldrick has said that he is delighted to have beaten Clarrie Bourton's record for scoring in consecutive away matches.

McGoldrick levelled Bourton's 81 year old record at Hartlepool United and then scored in the 87th minute of the 3-1 victory at Colchester United to set the record of scoring in six consecutive matches.

Speaking to club journalist Keiran Crowley, McGoldrick, who thanked his team-mates for putting him in the position to score and the City supporters for their support of him said:  "It is a great achievement because Clarrie Bourton is the all-time leading record scorer here so to beat him at any record is quite something.

"He is a big name at the club so for me to beat his away record is a privilege."
