McGinnity Vows To Carry On

Mike McGinnity has vowed to continue as Chairman of Coventry City. He told the CET:
"No one else has offered to come in and put the money in and want to be chairman and there has been no request for a change from the board.

"So I take that as a vote of confidence, which in this game means you are gone next week. But I feel confident with the board behind me."

"But I am beginning to get fed up with having to justify my own position here. I have made mistakes and put my hands up, but I am not going to keep apologising. It reminds me a little bit of the scenario with Ron Atkinson and I am beginning to feel like him at the moment where I have to keep on justifying my position."

"There was a great noise from a small crowd but I was extremely disappointed so many stayed away.

"Many of them helped get Peter Reid out so I think they could have given us more support and they have missed a great game and a great win.

"It has been a difficult week but the players have done us proud by giving their all and three goals. I was a bit nervous at half time when we were 2-0 up but I thought they played exceptionally well and full credit to them. If that is the way they are going to go forward then I will be very happy."
