McGinnity States Options

Speaking to the club website, City Chairman Mike McGinnity has outlined his options for the first three games of the season following the Arena delay. McGinnity who along with another club representative is in talks with the Football League said: "There have been two precedents set by other clubs where they have been allowed to play games away because their new stadium is not ready.

"First off was Bolton, although that was a ruling by the Premier League. Secondly, and most importantly in our case, is the fact that Stoke were allowed to play three games away from home by the Football League in 1997. If they were allowed to I don't see any reason why we can't."

"Our second plan is that when the fixtures come out on June 23rd, we will try to negotiate with the team who we are due to be playing at home to see if we can get that fixture switched to their venue.

"Thirdly, if we have to look for an alternative venue to play our home game, when we find clubs who are willing to host the match, we will put it to a fans vote on the website."
