Coventry City's Ruben Lameiras has said that Jay McEveley should have sent off for the tackle on him during the Sky Blues 1-0 defeat at Sheffield United.
McEveley's tackle was late, reckless and likely to cause injury and only earned him a caution from referee Iain Williamson whose handling of a number of challenges left a lot to be desired and is surely worthy of further investigation.
Speaking about this to Matt Joyce, Lameiras said: "I personally think he's got to be sent off for that.
"I think the referee has to offer more protection there. He didn't go for the ball and he's lucky.
" I couldn't run at him in the second-half."
