McCann: We Have Not Done The Fans Justice

Chris McCann has said that the team did not do the City supporters justice in the 4-0 defeat at Cambridge United.

McCann, who was a second half substitute, told Laura Hunter; “Very difficult to take, it wasn’t good enough from start to finish. No disrespect to Cambridge but we should be coming here and winning that game.

“It is disappointing to lose to a team in the league below you and we’ve missed the chance to go through to the third round of the FA Cup.

“Simply, we weren’t good enough. We didn’t turn up. They wanted it more, they ran more, they tackled harder and I think we were a bit of a soft touch.

"The way the fans reacted is fully understandable. To watch us get beaten 4-0 on a Sunday is not good. We haven’t done them justice.”
