McCann: We Are Conceding Too Many Goals

Last updated : 26 August 2016 By CNS Sport

Chris McCann has said that Coventry City are conceding too many goals.

The Sky Blues let in three goals at Bradford and then six at Norwich on Tuesday night and McCann told the Coventry Telegraph at this lunch-time's press conference: “Performances have been quite good, albeit for patches in the game.

"The way we want to play will come right for us.”

Speaking about the defeat at Norwich, McCann said: “The goals came at the wrong time for us and individual errors cost us.

“We got beaten 6-1, we conceded 3 against Bradford and we are conceding too many goals.

“People start to look at the table when you haven’t got your first win and make a bigger deal than it is.

“We haven’t even played 10 games yet, as I said it’s a new team and new system and it can take time to acclimatise”

“When you’re a young lad and you come into the team, you’re excited and want to play as well as you can.

“It’s a difficult league, some people say you can’t play your way out of it, at Wigan we had a philosophy and stuck to it and it worked.

“The gaffer thinks we are good enough as footballers to do that here, and that’s what we will do.”
