The Sky Blues boss refused to get carried away by the victory though, preferring to concentrate on City's promotion challenge.
McAllister said: "It was a great result and a pleasing performance but having said that we were playing against nine men who were two divisions below us and I would expect us to make a lot of chances.
"It is a different proposition in the league because there is not the same pressure to get points to stay up at the top with the pace-setters.
"I thought we showed the gulf between the First and the Third Divisions. It's easy to say that on paper, but you have to do it on the park and we did."
