Match updates from Coventry City U21's v Leeds U21's

Coventry City under 21's take on Leeds United under 21's today at the Alan Higgs Centre.

TEAM: Coventry City. Dunn, Phillips, Kilbane, Lobjoit, Willis, Brown, Roberts, McGinn, O'Donovan, Barton, Jeffers.

Subs: Daniels, J.Henderson, Finch, Garner, Lawton. 

Leeds United: Rachubka, Green, Taylor, N.Turner, Kisnorbo, Gimpel, Hall, L.Turner, Antelmi, Lenighan, Payne.

Subs. Grimes, Snodin, Clamp, Dawson, Walters.

Steven McGinn is having a trial with Coventry.

The match is underway. The sun is shining and it is a reasonably pleasant day.

3.Jeffers, playing on the left, wins a corner.

7. City win another corner.

9. A great bit of battling from Jeffers leads to a ninth minute corner.

13. A Lewis Turner 25 yard shot goes wide of Dunn's post.

15. A rasping 20 yarde shot from Jeffers is pushed over the bar by Rachubka for a City corner.

The referee spots a shove in the box as Brown comes in to meet the ball from the corner.

20. Dunn catches a shot from Lewis Turner following a great cross by Lenighan, however Turner is adjudged to have been offside.

Arron Phillips is putting in some good balls to keep the Leeds defence busy.

McGinn, the triallist from Watford, loooks accomplished in central midfield. O'Donovan and Kisnobo square up to each other but the referee sorts it out with a word to the pair.

Half an hour gone and it remains 0-0.

Steve Ogrizovic and head coach Steve taylor are both watching the game.

31. Payne fires wide from 14 yards for Leeds.

Former Coventry City player Marcus Hall is also watching the game.

36. Good play from Kilbane who passes to Jeffers from the left hand side of the field, Rachubka goes down to block and eventually Leeds scramble the ball away.

Kilbane goes onto the attack again but his 20 yard shot goes inches wide.

38. Leeds win a corner.

39. GOAL: From the corner, Patrick Kisnorbo turns and sends the ball low into the bottom corner of the goal.

43. Jeffers 20 yard shot is deflected for a City corner.

HALF TIME: Coventry City U21 0 Leeds United U21 1(Lenighan)

Second half gets underway.

 Former Coventry City player Dave Phillips is here watching his son Arron.

48. Payne wins a corner for Leeds. The corner is cleared by McGinn who wins a free kick after he is fouled.

52. GOAL: A mistake by McGinn allows Ryan Hall in and he gives Dunn no chance from 10 yards to make it Coventry City U21 0  Leeds United U21 2.

56. Leeds win a corner which is cleared.

57. Great run and shot by Payne which Dunn pushes round for another Leeds corner.

60. Substitution, McGinn goes off and is replaced by Daniels.

63. City are forced to clear after Barton loses the ball.

64. Linighan hit a shot high over the bar.

65. Payne runs through but hits his low shot wide.

66. After a Brown mistake, Payne fires a shot inches wide when he really should have scored. 

 67. Substitution, Joe Henderson has been warming up for a while and is now on in place of Brown.

68. City win a corner which Kilbane takes and is easily cleared.

72. City win a corner.

Leeds clear the corner with a long ball to Green who cuts inside to shoot low which Dunn pushes round for a corner.

The sun has gone in and it is getting very dark.

75. Green wins a corner for Leeds which Kisnorbo hooks over the bar.

77. Substitution. Barton goes off, Lawton is on. 

 81. Leeds substitution. Antelmi is replced by Walters.

83. Dunn saves from Hall.

85. Kilbane has a cross or shot that flashes across the goal mouth.

86. Leeds substitution. Linighan is replaced by Snodin.

87. Leeds win a corner. A great block from Phillips, then Snodin curls the rebound over the bar.

89. City win a corner. The kick is taken but it is easily caught by Rachubka.

Into stoppage time now.

92. An O'Donovan shot hits Rachubka and goes out for a City corner.

GOAL: Deep into stoppage time Henderson passes the ball forward to Daniels who bundles the ball into the goal at the far post.
