Andy Marshall has been released by Aston Villa after his year contract expired.

The keeper who was released by Chris Coleman in 2009, was a regular for Villa's Reserve side which won the FA Premier Reserve League South.

Speaking to the Sunday Mercury, Marshall, who has also played for Millwall and Norwich City said: "I've enjoyed my time at Villa but I've been released now and I'm looking for a new club - I still think I've got a few years left in me.

"I'm keeping my options open but I want to stay at a high level and it would be nice to be in the Championship."
