Marlon King wants to stay at Coventry City according to his agent Tony Finnigan.

There had been media speculation hat King who has been attracting interest from other clubs would be on his way at the end of the season following Aidy Boothroyd's dismissal on Monday but King's agent Tony Finnigan had denied this.

Speaking to the CT, Finnigan said: "Aidy Boothroyd had a working relationship with Marlon King at Watford. "We all know that and it was very successful.

"Aidy has been sacked or relieved of his duties - it happens. People might expect him to throw his toys out of the pram but he won't. He's a professional footballer.

"They had a great relationship but Coventry have made a decision and everyone has got to stick by it. It is as simple as that and that's what Marlon's approach will be because he is a professional and he's happy at the place he is working and I think everyone can see that from his performances and body language.

"And now we're just going to wait now for the club to make an offer to re-engage the guy at the end of the season on a longer term deal. That is what we are looking for.

"Marlon's keen to stay and if they want to keep him there then they just offer him a new deal, we agree terms and he signs. But he's happy, yes definitely.

"He's hasn't been offered anything yet but I have spoken to the chairman and he's going  to put something in place to us and we're waiting for that.

"And it is now down to them to get his contract to him sooner rather than later so he can carry on and play for Coventry City and bring some good times and success to them.

"So I want Ray Ranson's call and then he can extend his stay there onwards and upwards."
