Nuneaton Town, this morning unveiled Marlon Harewood as their new signing.

Harewood, had been at Hartlepool United after starting his career with Nottingham Forest.

After loan spells at Haka and Ipswich Town, he joined West Ham United in 2003 and then Aston Villa in 2007 with loan spells at Wolves and Newcastle.

Further loans saw him at Barnsley and then in China with Guangzhou before he returned to Britain to play for Hartlepool.

Harewood has known Nuneaton's assistant Steve Chettle a long time and said at this morning's press conference:  "Once I had met Kevin Wilson, it was not a hard decision to make. I was impressed with how passionate he was about what he wants for the club.

"The gaffer was telling me about what he wants to do this season, and it fitted in with me perfectly.

"I had heard about what Kevin had done as a manager, and I have known Chetts (Wilson's assistant Steve Chettle) since I was a kid. I used to look up to him when we were at Forest, I know what he was like as a player, he was well respected at Forest and throughout the game."

Harewood, now aged 35 goes into the Nuneaton squad which will face Coventry City at Liberty Way tomorrow.
