Managers View on City Defeat

Both managers felt sorry for Matthew Mills whose 87th minute own goal gave Ipswich Town a 2-1 win at Highfield Road

Peter Reid said: "It's part of his education. It's a cruel game sometimes but he's done great for us, like Luke Steele in goal, and mistakes will be part of their game. "Without those two, though we'd really be in the mire so we're lucky to have them.

"I thought we passed it round really well and certainly shaded the first half. We deserved to take something from the game and were very unlucky, especially to lose by a mistake to a young player who's been otherwise fantastic for us."

Ipswich boss Joe Royle said: "I felt for him. It wasn't the best way to win but I think we just deserved it. "I wouldn't have been happy with a draw and we needed to start winning away games if we are to keep challenging at the top. "I thought Coventry were nervous after their recent results."
