Former Coventry City youngster Ashley Cain has snapped his Achillies tendon.
The Nuneaton hailing winger, who came through the ranks at City, was due to sign a deal with Romanian side Gaz Metan Media this week and was with them for pre-season training in Hungary.
However, he has been forced to return to England for surgery and could be out for eight to twelve months.
