Coventry City Manager Steven Pressley feels that Gary Madine is a changed man.

Madine made a number of court appearances during his time at Carlisle United and served five months of an eighteen month prison sentence for assaulting two fans in a nightclub.

However, the City boss feels that Madine is a changed man and told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “He’s obviously been plagued by several incidents off the field of play but in terms of his attitude towards the game and training, the one thing I have been told by numerous people on Gary Madine is that it’s absolutely first class.

“I think that it’s easy to look upon things in terms of history and be concerned, but when we all look back at our own lives and the type of things we did when we were  in our early 20s, I think sometimes we can cringe.

“ I think that’s part and parcel of a young man’s development and the most important thing is that he learns from that. “It would appear that he has and he seems a very mature and sensible young man who I believe has learned his lessons.”
