James Maddison has joined the list of Coventry City players who have said that they want Tony Mowbray to remain in charge of the Sky Blues.

Maddison told Daniel Smith of the Coventry Telegraph: “I’d love him to stay and I’d like to be a main player in his team and help push us forward to get some success back at this club.

“He’s a top manager who has worked at the highest level and you can tell that in the short two-month spell he has had with us.

“I think he could be the one to take this football club forward and it would be nice to be up the other end of the table this time next year.

“We shouldn’t be celebrating staying in League One with the squad of players we’ve got. We should be challenging for promotion but we are where we are and hopefully we can push on for next season.”
