James Maddison has said that it was a great feeling to get that proved to be the winning goal as Coventry City beat Port Vale 1-0 at the Ricoh Arena.
Maddison told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “It was such a great feeling to get the goal and I think everything came out of me as I went to celebrate.
“I was so happy; over the moon and I dedicate that goal to the physio team and medical staff – Dave Hart, Pauline Robertson and Jacob – who have helped me get back ahead of schedule.
“They’ve had to put up with me for the last three months moaning to get me back quicker. I worked my socks off to get back in the best shape as I can and it’s so good to be playing again. I’m just working hard now to get the manager to get me back in from the start.
“I was confident that I would go on and I kept trying to get the gaffer’s attention.
“Thankfully I got on and had an impact on the game.
“I received the ball off Jim, did a little sharp turn past someone and saw the far corner open up so thought I’d have a go. It was brilliant to see it go in.
“We’ve had a frustrating run of games where we haven’t had the results we’ve wanted. Port Vale were in our faces from the start on a day when I thought they’d come and sit off and let us have possession.
