MacDonald Back To Villa's First Team?

Former Coventry City midfielder Kevin MacDonald could take over from Gerard Houllier if Aston Villa get any closer to the drop, according to reports in The People today.

MacDonald was caretaker when Martin O'Neill was sacked and went back to his day job of managing Villa's reserves when the Frenchman along with former Sky Blue Gary McAllister was appointed.

However, the paper claims that defeat today against Newcastle and protests by the Villa fans could see Houllier and McAllister on their way and MacDonald back in charge.
