Coventry City Council Leader Ann Lucas has said that she has a responsibility to make sure that

Speaking to the Coventry Observer's Matt Bates in an interview to mark her first six months in office, she said about the Ricoh Arena situation with Coventry City FC:  "We are where we are.

"It’s incredibly complicated and everybody has their own take on what happened and why it happened and whose fault it was.

"I just know that it is a hugely valuable asset to Coventry and I have a responsibility to the people of Coventry to make sure they get good value."

The City supporting Council leader also spoke about her meeting with Joy Seppala last month and said; "I was there for about one hour and 20 minutes and I think we were both pretty frank with each other.

"Bearing in mind I’ve been leader since May, I come with no baggage and I just felt I had to speak to this lady face to face and say where I was coming from.

"I had to explain that I know businesses can work very privately and that’s fine – we do commercial confidentially stuff all the time because we have a big portfolio - but I can’t work secretly and there’s a big difference.

"It’s a constituency of 320,000 people out there."
