Chesterfield FC have told former Coventry City players Kyel Reid, Marc Antoine Fortune and former City loanee and trialist Zavon Hines that they can find a club nearer their London homes.

Chesterfield have struggled this season after being relegated from the Football League at the end of last season and Manager Martin Allen, who has refused to quit and said changes needed to be mafe, said in a letter to supporters: "Kyel Reid, Marc-Antoine Fortune and Zavon Hines all live down in London and it's best for them and for us to find clubs in the London area.

"I am not going into further details as to why I've had to make this decision."

Shwan Jalal, Joe Anyon, Michael Nelson and Robbie Weir have also been made available for a free transfer or loan.
