Locally, Craig Reid played the first half in Tamworth's 0-0 draw at home to Southport. At the break,Lambs boss Mark Cooper opted for a tactical substitution bringing on former West Brom striker Bob Taylor. Tamworth remain bottom with 29 points.

Nuneaton Borough won 2-1 at Vauxhall Motors to keep their hopes of a play-off place alive whilst in the Southern League,Rugby Town drew 2-2 at Tiverton but Bedworth lost 1-0 at home to Stourport.

Midland Alliance scores saw Racing Club Warwick beaten 2-1 at leaders Chasetown but Leamington won, with a 2-0 home victory over Oldbury United and Stratford Town drew 2-2 at home to Studley.

A 0-0 draw at Shifnal was enough to take Atherstone Town through to the Midland Combination League Cup Final. Adders had won 3-0 in the home leg last Saturday.

In the Premier Divsion, Coventry Sphinx were in fine form winning 5-0 at home to Highgate United. Paul Charnley's side are only three points behind leaders Atherstone but have played two games more.

Sphinx qualified for the CET Cup Final at the Arena in midweek and their opponents in the final,Coventry Copsewood also won with a 2-1 victory at Cadbury Athletic. Massey Ferguson beat Meir KA 3-1 and Southam beat Bolehall 1-0. Alveston lost 3-1 at home to Feckenham whilst Nuneaton Griff drew 1-1 at Bridgnorth.

In Division One, the big local derby saw Leamington Hibernian beat Kenilworth Town 1-0 with Stockingford stuffling Loughborough 4-0. Elsewhere Warwick Town drew 2-2 at West Hagley, Coventry Sphinx Reserves drew 1-1 at Halesowen Town Reserves and Kenilworth Wardens reserves won 2-0 away at Ambleside.
