Locally, Nuneaton Borough kept up their bid to over come Premiership Middlesbrough in the FA Cup next week with a 2-1 win over Barrow on Firday night. Bedworth's game with Swindon Supermarine was called off.

On New Years Eve, Rugby Town beat Aylesbury 4-0, Racing Club Warwick beat Westfields 1-0,Leamington drew 1-1 with Alvechurch, Jose Blake scored for The Brakes.

In the Midland Combination Premier Division; Leaders Atherstone Town won 1-0 at Brocton, Coventry Sphinx won 3-1 at Coleshill Town, Coventry Copeswood won 2-1 at Alveston, Massey Ferguson won 4-0 at Highgate United and Nuneaton Griff beat Southam United 3-1.

In the first division,Leamington Hibs lost 2-0 at Thimblemill Rec,but Stockingford won 5-0 at Loughborough. Kenilworth's game with Knowle was postponed.
