Lloyd McGrath & CCFC ‘Legends’ Charity Event

This afternoon, the  ’Legends of 1987′ are turning out for Charity game one more time on Sunday 12th August 2012 and where better to hold it but at F.A.Cup hero Lloyd McGrath‘s Hawkes Mill Sport and Leisure Club, kick off at 2 p.m.

The Day is being held in aid of the Charity ‘Always a Chance’  which aims to help change the lives of young people at risk of being involved with violent crime and to provide support for victims of violence and their families.

The match will be the centrepiece of a wonderful day out also planned to involve food (a pig roast; hot dogs; burgers & chips), live music from Lloyd McGrath junior, kid’s entertainment including a bouncy castle and a charity raffle. Entrance will be £3 adults and £1 children.

An earlier attempt to mount such an event in June was unfortunately rained off so Lloyd is enormously pleased to be able to get the F.A.Cup Legends back to Hawkes Mill. Lloyd has put together a team featuring a number of colleagues from that momentous season including  Cup Final scorer (and CCFPA committee member) Dave Bennett and Association Members Steve Ogrizovic,  Cyrille RegisTrevor PeakeMicky GynnBrian Borrows (who tragically missed the final through injury), Dean Emerson and Paul Culpin. The ‘Boys of ’87′ will be supported by other Sky Blues’ stars of the past including CCFPA members Marcus Hall and Dave Busst  as well as former CCFC players David TittertonGavin O’Toole and Paul Shepstone (all Association members) and Terry Angus. Sky Blues’ manager on that auspicious day in MayJohn Sillett (also a CCFPA member) has also promised to attend.  The ‘Boys of ’87 plus’ team  will be taking on a  ‘Hawkes Mill Select’ local team booked by Lloyd.

This promises to be a fantastic day out – everyone is welcome.
