Liverpool are trying to get a deal completed for former Coventry City loanee Jordan Henderson done before the winger goes off on Wednesday to Denmark to take his place in Stuart Pearce's England U21 squad for the European U21 Championship which start on Saturday.
Sunderland are believed to be asking in the region of £20m for the England international but Liverpool, according to reports have not come up to that but could be offering a deal which includes a player swap.
Henderson signed a five year at the Stadium Of Lights back in 2010 and reports say that the Mackams are not in a rush to sell Henderson.
