Linington The Ref For Gillingham Trip

The currently appointed referee for Coventry City’s League One game at Gillingham is James Linington.

Hailing from the Isle Of Wight, Mr Linington took up refereeing after realising that he was not strong enough to play in adult football at the age of 15 at the standard he wanted to  He was appointed to the Select Group of Assistant Referees in 2006 and two years later he joined the National Group of Referees.

His last City game was the 2-2 draw with Crawley on January 12th 2014. Previous City games he has been in charge of are, the 1-0 defeat to Millwall in April 2012, the 0-0 home draw with Reading in April 2011, the 2-1 home defeat to Cardiff City in October 2010 and the 3-2 win over Peterborough in December 2009.

This season, he has had 23 games and shown 60 yellows and six reds.

His assistants are Andrew Laver and Robert Whitton. The Fourth Official is Dean Treleaven.
