Joe Elliott will step down from Coventry City's Board to become the club's Life President.

The former local business man has been a City supporter for over 55 years and was key in helping to save from Coventry City when they were close to twice going into administration nearly three years ago.

Joe is known locally as 'Mr Coventry' for his work which includes the Coventry City Diamond Club, the Coventry Transport Museum and a number of charities based in the city and is also a former Citizen Of The Year and Coventry Ambassador Of The Year.

He told Sky Blue Player: "These are exciting times. Just a few years ago it looked as if there might no longer be a Coventry City as we know it, but that is all history now.

"I will continue to work hard for the club in a number of areas and will help in any way in which the board feels I can contribute."

All at Covsupport News Service wish Joe well in his new CCFC Ambassadors role.
