The currently appointed referee for Coventry City's League One game against Port Vale on Sunday is Rob Lewis from Shrewsbury.

Mr Lewis started his refereeing career in the Shrewsbury and Shropshire leagues and came through the ranks as an assistant referee where he made it onto the FIFA List and ran the line for a number of high profile international matches, with one of the highlights running the line at the Bernabeu Stadium for a Champions League match when David Beckham was playing for Real Madrid.

Mr Lewis has only been in charge of one City match before and that was the 2-0 defeat at Crawley Town on April 13th 2013. He also was in charge of a City Reserves game against Fulham in 2005 which finished 1-1.

This season, he has had 17 games and shown 65 yellows and four reds.
