Lewis The Ref For Boxing Day Game

The currently appointed referee for Coventry City’s League One game against Port Vale on Boxing Day is Rob Lewis from Shrewsbury.

Mr Lewis started his refereeing career in the Shrewsbury and Shropshire leagues and came through the ranks as an assistant referee where he made it onto the FIFA List and ran the line for a number of high profile international matches, with one of the highlights running the line at the Bernabeu Stadium for a Champions League match when David Beckham was playing for Real Madrid.

His last City game was the 2-2 draw with Port Vale at Sixfields in March 2014 and he was in charge of the 2-0 defeat at Crawley Town on April 13th 2013. He also was in charge of a City Reserves game against Fulham in 2005 which finished 1-1.

His assistants are: Barry Cropp and Stuart Eagland. The Fourth Official is Ian Smedley.
