Coventry City midfielder Aron Gunnarsson is keen to become the Sky Blues new penalty taker.

Elliott Ward, who scored from six penalties last season including a brace at Colchester, missed on Tuesday night at Sheffield United and the Icelander has said that he will fight Ward to take the spot kicks.

"If Wardy wants to fit me for it,then I am ready," said Gunnarsson to the CT. "I am going to get the ball and take it and he says he will fight me for it. I took the penalties for AZ Alkmaar Reserves and never missed.

"I have spoken to Elliott and he says he will fight me for it but I told him, I will get a red card because I don't care I am going to get the ball."
