Lee Hughes Joins Notts County

Former Coventry Ciy striker Lee Hughes has signed for Notts County.



The deal looked to have fallen through with Hughes advisors demanding too much money, something which saw him not awarded another contract at Oldham Athletic. However, a deal has been agreed and Hughes has joined on a free transfer

Former City striker Gary McSheffrey played the second half for Birmingham City last night in a 2-0 defeat to VFB Stuttgart.



Another ex City player Lee Carlsey started for The Blues before being replaced by new signing Barry Ferguson at half-time. Scott Dann was not involved in the match.

Former Coventry City loanee Jonnie Jackson has handed in a transfer request at Colchester United. Jackson joined Colchester from Tottenham and has made 115 appearances for the U's

"Johnnie Jackson and Phil Ifil both want to leave the football club," said Colchester boss Paul Lambert to his club's website at a press conference.

"Nobody is guaranteed anything. I don't want Johnnie to go but he is not happy and his agent has asked if he can go. "Johnnie has asked to leave, but we would still like to keep him if we can."
