Darragh Leahy has said that he is relishing playing with Coventry City's first team in pre-season.

Leahy has been involved in all of City's games and speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, the young Irish defender said: “It’s amazing the opportunities you get at this club. One or two players have got injured and you’re straight in and it’s a question of taking your opportunity and grasping it.

“I have given my best and all I can do is see what happens. I was playing in the Under-18s and FA Youth Cup last year and now I’m playing against players who were in the Premier League last season, so it’s a big step up.

“It was a great experience playing against so many international guys at Norwich, especially the Irish boys who played in the Euros; great to test myself.

“You just have to take it as it comes. You look at the names on the teamsheet and get excited about facing these players and I really enjoyed it.

“At the moment there are two players in my position injured which is good for me and I will just enjoy it as long as it lasts.”
