City have taken Dean Leacock on a months loan from Fulham. Leacock is a 20 year old ccentral defender and has played for England Youth. He has made four appearances for Chris Coleman's teams and will go into the squad to face Leeds United. He has been given the number 21 shirt.

A biography on Fulham's web-site says: "Dean is a quick, strong defender with good technique and excellent distribution. He can occupy either a full back or a centre half role. A local boy, who originally hails from Thornton Heath, he made his debut for Fulham two seasons ago in a Fourth Round Worthington Cup game away at Wigan. Predominantly right footed, Dean also has a useful left foot and is an expert at long diagonal passes. Last season Dean was a contender for the Young Player of The Season Award despite suffering a frustrating knee injury which limited his involvement. He played at right back in three successive Premiership home games - against Leicester City, Wolves and Newcastle - impressing in all. In a total of four starts last season, as well as a number of Reserve appearances, the 20-year-old has shown himself to be an exciting prospect."

Meanwhile,The Sun are claiming that City will sign Stern John from Birmingham City today beating off competition from Leeds and Nottingham Forest. Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell said:"I'm not at all disappointed at missing out on him. "The way I look at it, if he doesn't want to come here and play for Leeds, then we don't want him."
