Coventry City manager Steven Pressley said that Cov Kid's Ivor Lawton's performance against AS Roma B typified what he is trying to create with the Sky Blues.

“Tonight was very much about the energy levels and topping up our fitness and it was vital after the situation at Nuneaton that we played 90 minutes of football,” said Pressley to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner.

“At times it was really difficult because of the circumstances but I thought we were excellent in all the aspects that I talk about. All I wanted to see was our pressing football and I thought we were brilliant out there.

“The performance was typified by Ivor Lawton who was the only player to play the full 90 minutes but his energy levels and desire, and willingness to do the work was fantastic. And that typified everything we want to create here. So I was really pleased with the group and there wasn’t a negative performer out there.

“It was a positive result as well. You can’t win enough games of football and that breeds confidence.”
