Lawton Enjoys Nuneaton Spell

Coventry City youngster Ivor Lawton has said that he enjoyed his loan spell at Nuneaton Town.

Lawton has been back in City U21's side and put in another battling performance against Colchester United yesterday and he told Matt Joyce: "I want to progress as a centre-midfield player and I feel that is where I can play my best football.

"At Nuneaton there were a great bunch of lads, good management and a good structure. But I played three times at right-back and I feel I need to play as a centre-midfielder to continue developing myself in the role.

"So the spell wasn't exactly what I wanted it to be but it's a great club and I wish them all the best for the season. Things like this happen in football and I'm eager to prove myself in the Under-21s in order to get into the first-team. I'm a Cov lad so it's everything I want and I'm going to work extremely hard to try and achieve that."
