Coventry born Marcus Law has become the new manager of Tamworth FC.

The former Bristol Rovers goalkeeper, who has managed Coventry Sphinx, Bedworth United, Racing Club Warwick, Quorn and Barwell had been at Kettering Town for the last eight months.

He steered Kettering to a comfortable 14th place in the Conference Premier table and takes over from Dale Belford who was in charge of the Lambs on a caretaker basis after Des Lyttle and former Coventry City Reserve Team manager Gary Mills had left the club.

Law has signed a three year deal and Tamworth midfielder Jake Sheriden told the Tamworth Herald:  "I think it shows the board have faith in the appointment.

"I'm sure that stability has been something that drew Marcus to the club.

"It gives him time to stamp his mark on the club and continue the progress of the last couple of years.

"I think it's exciting for the fans. A new manager brings new optimism.

"He seems to have done well at Kettering given the financial constraints that he had there.

"By the end of the season they had stayed up comfortably, so you can't ask any more of a manager than that."
