Wasps have said that they have are using lamps and germination sheets in order to try to improve the quality of the pitch at the Ricoh Arena.

Coventry City manager Russell Slade has been amongst those who have criticised the state of the pitch which hosts both football and rugby union and the owners of the Ricoh Arena have now taken action to try and remedy this.

Both City and Wasps are due to use the pitch this weekend and a spokesman for Wasps told the Coventry Telegraph: “Additional germination sheets and lamps have been employed to improve the condition of the pitch and will be in place for a period of approximately two months.

“These are pretty normal actions in respect of a pitch in the winter months and we would hope to see steady improvement throughout March.”
