Coventry City Ladies fought hard for a point against Leicester City Women.

In a game which will help to shape the top of the Midland Women's Combination table, the Sky Blues were not allowed to played their brand of attacking football which had seen them net thirteen goals in the last two games.

Stuart Wilson's side took the lead in the 33rd minute when a Natasha Lynch free kick was punched down by Sophie Le Gros in the Leicester goal and the ball fell for Jade Formaston to ram into the net from close range.

Although,Formaston who was called up for England U17 duty this week, had a superb game, she was forced to spend much of the game tackling back rather than attacking.

Leicester dominated the second half and drew level in the 53rd minute when an Emma Lipman clearance only reached Remi Allen who scored with a 23 yard shot.

The visitors won five corners in the second half but with Kerry Williamson performing heroics in goal, they could not find another way through.

Her best save was a push over the bar from a 73rd minute Rachel Williams free kick, despite suffering a couple of injuries.
