Coventry City Ladies midfielder Hayley Ladd played for Wales Women in their 1-1 Algarve Cup game against Hungary.
Ward saw the Hungerian keeper off her line and chips it into the net in the opening minutes but Hungary levelled late in the second half before Ladd was replaced by Hignett.
Former Coventry City Ladies defender Laura Bassett played for England in a 3-1 win over New Zealand in the Cyprus Cup. The win put thems through to the final against Canada.
