Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that not having a pre-season tour is not an issue.

Quite a few City supporters both in England and Ireland were hoping that the Sky Blues would be playing matches in Dublin but this has not come off and Tony Mowbray said at this lunchtime's press conference to the Coventry Telegraph's James Rodger: "The lack of a tour isn't an issue. It allows us to concentrate without having to wait around travelling, in airports and on coaches.

"It's not a negative. A lot of clubs do it, but it gives us a chance here at our own training ground to bed the players in.

"I think we have five concrete pre-season friendlies, and players have to perform games. We are working on arranging more."
