Former Coventry City striker Kevin Kyle says he wants to come back to the Championship and shove it up Coventry City's ass.

Speaking to the Daily Record, the Kilmarnock player who played for Scotland in their 3-0 defeat to Wales on Saturday said: "I came to Killie thinking if I can get things going again I'd like to go back to England.

"I've lived down south most of my life and enjoyed it - apart from the time at Coventry.

"I don't feel I have a point to prove because I scored goals in the Championship and won that league with Sunderland. "So it's not a case of whether I can or can't do it there.

"It's just that I had such a bad time at Coventry I kinda want to go back down there and shove it up their ass. "It was horrible. I was targeted. If Kevin Kyle's name was read out it was booed.

"I was sent off a couple of times and had been in trouble with the police up in Scotland (he was found guilty of breaching the peace after a street brawl).

"I was doing community service and that didn't help because my wages were published in the papers and fans thought 'This guy's earning such-and-such a week and he's not trying'.

"They were thinking 'We're paying every week to watch you but you're getting sent off and p***ing it up against a wall'. It was hard.

"I accepted some criticism because it was maybe justified. "But sometimes I would get stick walking down the street or kids would come to my house and things like that, keeping me up all night.

"I'm a big laddie and when people are giving me stick face to face I have to grit my teeth.

"I wouldn't walk up to Tom Cruise and say "Your last film was crap'. "So why should fans get to do it to me? It was horrible and I never want to go through that again."
