Coventry City striker Marlon King had admitted he is giving serious thought about signing the new contract offered to him by the new manager Andy Thorn.

After a tentative start to his Sky Blues career, both on and off the pitch, the controversial 31 year old striker has won over many fans with his performances and goals and was one of three high profile players who are out of contract in the summer, but who have all been offered new deals since Thorn became the manger of the club.

King is grateful to the club for giving him the chance to reignite his career after his release from prison last summer and is especially grateful to the fans for their support and for giving him another chance.

King has been in fine form in the latter part of the season and that has not gone unnoticed by other clubs, several of which are keen to offer him a deal should he reject the Coventry City offer.

King said to the CT: "It is always nice to be offered a new contract. I'll see the season out and then sit down and make the decision from there."

"I will give it some serious thought because the fans have been brilliant with me and everyone else at the club. I like to think that I have applied myself well and chipped in with a few goals and performances so it works both ways, but as I said all I am concentrating on is Norwich on Saturday and then we can take it from there."
